Another gloomy day in the sunshine state so practicing self-care the best way I know how: posting a happy picture, oiling up & eating foods to fuel my spirits πŸ”† curious, does the weather affect your mood? I’ve never had to deal with seasonal depression living in FL then CO, luckily, but these stretches of rain get me soo down. I find I start to get lazy with my diet, movement, & routines & it has an immediate impact on my mood! Good thing is, there are so many ways plants & nutrient can support us:

+ top ten nutrients to combat depression- calcium, chromium, folate, iron, magnesium, omega-3, vitamin B6 & 12, vitamin D & zinc.
+ foods that carry large amounts of these: dark leafy greens, Avocados, whole grains, oats, potatoes, asparagus, lentils, nuts, chia seeds, chickpeas, seeds, etc.
+ take a Vitamin B complex to ensure you’re getting appropriate levels (especially plantbased eaters!) I used Super B from Young Living & swear by it for mood & energy.
+ diffuse citrus & floral essential oils. Thus sends signals to the limbic system in your brain responsible for emotions & mood. I have White Angelica & Orange going right now!
+ essential oils also raise your bodies natural vibrations which have a direct impact on mood & emotional state.
