PLANTS, FOOD, & MOOD π±
Another gloomy day in the sunshine state so practicing self-care the best way I know how: posting a happy picture, oiling up & eating foods to fuel my spirits π curious, does the weather affect your mood? Iβve never had to deal with seasonal depression living in FL then CO, luckily, but these stretches of rain get me soo down. I find I start to get lazy with my diet, movement, & routines & it has an immediate impact on my mood! Good thing is, there are so many ways plants & nutrient can support us:
+ top ten nutrients to combat depression- calcium, chromium, folate, iron, magnesium, omega-3, vitamin B6 & 12, vitamin D & zinc.
+ foods that carry large amounts of these: dark leafy greens, Avocados, whole grains, oats, potatoes, asparagus, lentils, nuts, chia seeds, chickpeas, seeds, etc.
+ take a Vitamin B complex to ensure youβre getting appropriate levels (especially plantbased eaters!) I used Super B from Young Living & swear by it for mood & energy.
+ diffuse citrus & floral essential oils. Thus sends signals to the limbic system in your brain responsible for emotions & mood. I have White Angelica & Orange going right now!
+ essential oils also raise your bodies natural vibrations which have a direct impact on mood & emotional state.
